Dr. Lisa Boffa is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who specializes in evidence-based psychiatry in Montrose, Colorado. At the office of Montrose Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Associates, patients receive mental health support for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, insomnia, maternal issues, schizophrenia, and other disorders.
Lisa has lived on the Western Slope for over 20 years, and she remains in awe of the beauty Colorado has to offer. Her philosophy is that people can work through life’s difficulties if they are provided with the right tools. She believes there is always hope, even in times of darkness.
Through active listening and gentle questioning, Lisa delivers high-quality care that helps patients understand their mental health conditions and work toward healing. With over 14 years of experience in acute and chronic care, she realized that the field of mental health is evolving and uses the lates techniques to treat conditions.
Lisa received her BSN and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus. She received her Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licenses from Frontier 15Nursing University. She is committed to a philosophy of life-long learning.
She believes every patient deserves the best care and works hard to deliver excellent patient experiences. This includes referrals to therapists who partner in the healing process.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys listening to music and appreciating nature. She has two lovely children, one of whom is still at home with her and three adorable cats and a dog who keep her constantly entertained.

Lisa Peterson is a compassionate and experienced nurse practitioner and Veteran since 2013 who provides personalized psychiatric care for individuals and families throughout Montrose and the surrounding communities. She is triple board certified in acute care, family practice, and psychiatric mental health, allowing her to bring a well-rounded, whole-person perspective to each patient’s treatment plan.

Her approach blends evidence-based medicine with genuine care and practical support for everyday life. Lisa values creating a safe, welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable being themselves and supported in their journey toward wellness. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, connecting with her community, and sharing life with her family in beautiful western Colorado.
